Investigating the distortions of language and logic, Central New York artist, Frank McCauley will show his recent work at Receiver Gallery in San Francisco on November 5, 2005.
Frank McCauley's paintings are reactions to events in his past and present. They deal with psychological aspects of himself and also attempt to convey partial messages to the viewer. His work deals with a fascination of the relationship between private and public, reality and fiction, object and representation and also with the interplay between the individual and structures or masses, and systems and architecture. In his work there is a shift from unconscious to concrete perception, you are confronted with yourself, not through a real reflection but by becoming aware of yourself in relation to something else.
