About the Show

Investigating distortions of language and logic, central New York artist, Frank McCauley, displays his most recent work at Receiver Gallery in San Francisco.

Frank McCauley’s paintings vividly portray his reactions to situation from his past and present. His work deals with the internal psychological aspects of self and convey partial messages to the viewer of his inner workings. There exists a fascination of relationships between private and public, reality and fiction, object and representation and also the interplay between the individual and the masses, and systems and architecture. Moving from the unconscious to concrete perception, McCauley’s work confronts the viewer with an image of oneself, not through reflection but by gaining awareness of yourself through the world of something else.

An opening reception will be held on Saturday, November 5th, between 7 - 10 pm.

Music will be provided by Steve Mac.

The artist will be in attendance, and refreshments will be served.
