Future Home Life
Many things can be interpreted from a few simple marks, and the artists in FUTURE HOME LIFE put their work on display to allow people to explore another's unique vision.
Future Home Life brings together four emerging artists including; Jill Bliss, (San Francisco) Veronica DeJesus, (Oakland) Matt Furie, (San Francisco) and Kenneth Lavallee (Canada). In this show, each artist deals with the form of mark-making with end results ranging from intricate interpretations of nature to fun and furry happiness. Repetition, patterns, waves and zigzags are all prevalent, as are the details which bring out various elements of human nature. A window display installation by Veronica De Jesus will also be shown.
An opening reception will be held Saturday, November 4th, from 7 - 10 pm. Refreshments will be served, and artists will be in attendance.

Matt Furie
I was born in suburban Ohio in 1979- it was a great place to grow up. I played outside, watched a lot of t.v. and played a lot of video games. I also drew pictures all the time. I liked making up creatures and drawing animals out of the encyclopedia. My drawings these days come from a mix of child-like enchantment and momentary adult situations. A lot of it ends up looking like childrenís book illustrations for adults.
Kenneth Lavallee
Kenneth Lavallee was born and resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where he studies Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba. Aside from drawing and painting on his bedroom floor, he very much enjoys swimming in freshwater beaches, eating street vendor hotdogs, and playing old school videogames. Among his dislikes are listening to people honk melodies with their car horns, sitting perpendicular to other people on public transportation, seafood, and wind.
